Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group all new paradise city

I want to bring you up‐to‐date on the happenings for Sun 'n Fun 2013 which will beApril 9 – 14,2013. Just to make things interesting, there are lots of changes this year at the event. Below are just a few and what we know so far.
ü The LSA Mall will now be a part of Paradise City. In fact, it will be showcased at theNEWentrance to Paradise City.
ü The light rotowing exhibitors and vendors will be included in Paradise City and will conduct flight operations from the Paradise City runway
ü Paradise City will have extended flight times.
ü The airport is moving Doolittle Road so that it will now make a dogleg into Paradise City.
ü The ILS approach lights and "hump" of dirt that used to be between the headquarters tent and the vendor area, has been removed.
ü The vendor/exhibitor spaces have been completely redesigned.
ü The headquarters tent/AirOps/Briefing tent will be located inside the Paradise City vendor area and be much closer to the runway.
üA culvert has been put in on the east end of the runway so that there is a run‐out area to the east that makes the Paradise City runway a full 1400' long.
ü Because of the extended flight times for Paradise City and the longer runway, we will not be running a shuttle service between Paradise City and South Lakeland Airport this year.
ü The entire Paradise City area is supposed to be graded and sodded by March 1.
ü There will be no motorized traffic on Doolittle Road besides emergency vehicles, authorized
ü service vehicles and the Sun 'n Fun trams between the hours of9 a.m. and 5 p.m.from April 8‐14, 2013.
ü Volunteer Parking will again be on the east side along Airside Road. Paradise City Volunteer
ü Camping will be on the east or west side of the N‐S ditch running on the east side of
ü Paradise City Volunteer camping with water and electric hookups are very limited. Only area#355 Light Planes volunteersworking at least28 hoursthis year are eligible and recommendation must be made by the Director the volunteer is working with. There is space available for dry camping in Paradise City near the exhibit area and runway. Dave Piper and the Director you work with must sign your volunteer card to verify the volunteer has met these requirements to receive camping the following year. If they do not follow this requirement they will not be approved for volunteer camping the next time they volunteer.
ü Volunteers who arefirst yearvolunteers will not receive free camping.
ü Personal use of golf cars or ATVs will not be permitted within Paradise City during the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
ü All pilots flying into our out of Sun 'n Fun must register with headquarters and must sign the
ü Waiver of Liability and attend a daily pilot briefing.
ü All passengers in an aircraft flying into or out of Sun 'n Fun must sign the Waiver of Liability.
ü Parking at the Headquarters tent will be permitted for a maximum of 2 handicapped vehicles and 2 golf cars at a time and only in designated areas.

Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group The EZ-EV Open Source Electric Kit Car

A bit off-topic but I did build a kitplane and this is a lot easier and more practical ...

I need help with my campaign at www.indiegogo.com/zwheelz

If I raise enough for basic tools, parts and materials for the prototype then anyone can become a manufacturer of this kit with a one week build time. Two-seat, highway-capable and eventually 3D printed body panels.

This is more about creating a global network of local micro manufacturers and an open source design community. Become a customer/partner!

Thanks,
Gary

Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: A note from your moderator.

Hi Helen and all.

Having malware mailed out and APPEARING to come from your account does not _necessarily_ mean your account has been hacked (it can be merely some of your email addresses somehow stolen):

In my experience  when a suspicious email appears to be sent by a likely innocent sender)
the sender's email account has NOT been hacked.
At least not in the sense of having been taken control of by
someone other than the intended owner.

It is usually easy for the owner to confirm that their email account has not actually been taken over as follows:
If a person with undesired intentions actually took control of your email account likely the first thing they'd do is lock YOU out by changing your email
password. So if you can still send email and access your email that has not in all probability not happened.
However, not much  harm in changing you email password ... though that might require you to go into some of your software and "tell" it your new password.

What likely has happened is this:
Someone HAS gotten access to all, or more likely part of, your email address book -- email addresses that you sometime send email to and addresses that
presumably "know you you are" and would be less suspicious of email coming from you.
Then they forge your return address and send emails to your recipients whose addresses they have.
It's just like someone you don't know and don't trust sending a letter to you and putting as the return address the name and address of someone you know
and trust in the upper left.

In the case of forged email it IS possible to get limited information about where the forged email actually came from.
In the cases where I have bothered to do that it turns out something like
"this came from a server/person somewhere in this locality of Turkey" but practically speaking that's a dead end.

As to how folks such as this get a list of your email recipients:
One way is if someone sends you an email (say something interesting) which they
sent to multiple recipients and they expose the email addresses of all
recipients. It is presumed that all these recipients might know/trust each
other. Then one of more forwards that email to 10 contacts, etc., etc., and that
list ends up finally in the hands of one person with less than sterling ethics.

Typically if you are a victim of someone forging emails and sending them out as
if they came from your email, the problem will fade out with time. If it persists you may have to advise all your recipients to ignore
all email from your current email address and create a new one.

As for what we can do as recipients:
Obviously, just delete/ignore any such suspicious looking mail.
If you canNOT access your email account (either unable to receive or unable to send email via your normal email account or your password does not work) that would be a sure sign that your account has been seriously hacked and someone has changed the password. In that case, unless you can reach the ISP that manages your account and deal with a live tech support person there for help most likely all you can do  is open a new email account and try to contact all your contacts to tell them not to open any mail from your old account.

Alex (aka locally as "Computer Doctor")

Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group A note from your moderator.

Follow pilots, as many of you have noticed it appears that Yahoo has a
major hacking problem going on right now. In the past week I have
received numerous e-mails from "friends" with Yahoo accounts who have
suddenly gone into the pharmaceutical business or are suggesting that I
become a millionaire by working from home, etc.

Gary and I will do our best to keep this stuff off the Sport Aircraft
list but if a hacked member is on unmoderated status, it may slip
through. Please do not click on any links without text. Also, if you
wish to send a link, be sure it has text in the body so we will know it
it is real. Additionally, anyone with a hacked account will immediately
go on moderated status to prevent other junk from coming through.

Finally, those of you with Yahoo accounts I strongly recommend change
and strengthen your password to include all of the following:

1. Both uppercase and lower case letters.
2. Letters and numbers
3. Symbols

Be safe on the internet as well as the in the skies.

Helen
