Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group AOPA Award

Stevensville, MD (May 30, 2013) - Chesapeake Sport Pilot has been recognized for its excellence in flight training by The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). The flight school has been awarded a spot on the Flight Training Excellence Awards Honor Roll, a title given to the top 50 flight schools in the country.

“We created the Flight Training Excellence Awards as part of a long-term, industry-wide effort dedicated to increasing the percentage of students who earn a pilot certificate,” said AOPA manager of flight training initiatives, Brittney Miculka. “We feel it’s important to recognize flight training providers, like Chesapeake Sport Pilot, who create an excellent experience and create lifelong aviators.” The awards have allowed AOPA to identify and recognize the highest levels of achievement, with the goal of encouraging others to adopt the characteristics of success.  This data will form the backbone of further efforts to promote a more professional and customer-centric approach to flight training.

Chesapeake Sport Pilot is a flight school specializing in sport and private pilot training and light sport aircraft rentals and sales. The flight school is known for its dedicated and experienced flight instructors who instruct out of a passion for sharing their love of flight with others.

I wasn't trying to be mean about the plane, but the ad was misleading when it indicated to some to remove a seat and fly it as an UL. Once registered there is no going back, and this is definitely a registered airframe.

The photos were a good representation, but someone with no in depth knowledge of these things could be prone to buy it and then find themselves with a serious problem. It may be a low hours plane. But the sails are on their way out, and the metal has been sitting around for several years percolating in the salt brine and corrosion that has been left behind. There are all sorts of problems people are not ready for when picking up a hangar queen.

They are claiming it was never registered I ran the tail number, and it come back to a Drifter out of FL. Since it has a valid registration it can not be returned to UL status as the video suggests. This thing is looking really rough. It may be worth it to get the floats, engine and prop if the price were to come down. The condition of the metal is really&#65279; poor and should get a full rebuild with major parts replacement to make it airworthy. With sails that old they should be fully replaced.

Pilots and aviation enthusiasts and their families are invited to participate in the Third Annual Armed Forces Day Celebration at the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum. Here is the basic information on the event:

WHO: The Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum and Pueblo Historical Aircraft Society

WHAT: are having their Third Annual Armed Forces Day Celebration and Fly In

WHERE: At the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum located on the grounds of the Pueblo Memorial Airport (KPUB). Pueblo Memorial Airport is located east of Pueblo Colorado on Colorado 96/Highway 50 East.

WHEN: May 18, 2013 from 8 AM to 4 PM

COST: FREE. Donations greatly appreciated

THERE WILL BE A VARIETY OF FAMILY, SCIENCE, AVIATION, AND HISTORY ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE FOR PARTICIPANTS.
