Well…It might not take 10 hours. You might be a natural. With my superior piloting skills (grin), I’d probably take 50…lol. I’d certainly not be discouraged by the number of hours, they’d still be fun and you’d get a new skill….one that not all pilots can brag about. If you can get dual instruction for that reasonable price, GO FOR IT! It’s something you want to do and sounds like a great place to do it.

Yes, that includes instructor. The prices around me (upstate NY) are quite reasonable compared to other parts of the country. I paid first $60/hr one year then $80/hr the next for my Sport Pilot training.
There is a farmer near me with a J3 who is also a CFI and owns his own strip, that's why the good price.
I had no idea the tail wheel was so involved to take 10 hours. I will re-think my quest.
I just wanted to rent the J3 or a Champ because I have a love for these aircraft, but I don't know if it is worth the time and expense.
