I agree with some of your thoughts. But, not what that one - will lead to. Your solution seems to be - to set back, and let our Country become a third world nation. (small letters - just like that will lead our economy - to become.)
When the LSA idea came out, I thought it was a good idea. But, it has not worked out that way for our economy. (I used to voice the same idea: if we don't build the best; I'll buy it from someone else. But, we have to stop giving money to Nation's, fighting the wrong war(s) against the wrong people, and start investing in our own economy. these overseas products costs their Countries less to produce. But, those savings are not being passed on to the buyers. China and others - are reaping the bigger profits.
If you like China so much, you probably should do more business with them. And I don't blame China. (Not even for those 'tainted toys' that harmed so many children.) They were our best Asian ally in WWII. But, we turned our back on them - and did more for Germany, Italy and Japan, than for them.
Blame the one percent of our Country - that has 76% of its wealth. And the people who have us in the longest war - with people that didn't bomb our Towers. (Get the movie: Charlie Wilson's War. what we did there - to Russia, we're now doing to ourselves. De Ja Vu.)
George Romney was our Governor in Michigan. Great man. Later, in Wisconsin, he a tried to get unions and management to work together. He finally gave up on that idea. he also said he was 'brainwashed' about 'Nam'. and resigned his political office.
His son, Mitt - reminds me of the Richard Gere character in the movie; 'Pretty Woman'. Take companies apart - and sell off the pieces. He is not like his father.
Piper did the same thing as Cessna. But, bought theirs from Europe.
Rans has a nice plane. And there are some other good American products out there. When possible, 'Buy American'.
part of the price of being an American - is to support American companies, products and workers, . If you don't have an American Job, you won't be buying anyone's product.
I was a teacher for 32 years, got my education here. I also spent 20 years in the military: Navy, Air Force, and Navy Reserves. and have been in aviation for over 55 years. And its all led to some good educational, and economic opportunities.
But, I won't buy a Cessna or Piper - built over seas. I'll stick with my little 'poor man's (built in America) Challengers (have had five) . It I could only buy a made in China pace maker - and my life depended on it; I'd sure buy one.
But, there are choices - and 'Buy American' - whenever possible is mine. I want to leave something for our kids - and our grandson. Bob McDonagh
