I’m one of the moderators of the yahoo group New Mexico Trikers, (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/new_mexico_trikers/) and I recently joined your group to see what other sport pilots were up to and also solicit your support for a project we have ongoing in our group. Recently, we had a flyer go down stranded 35 miles from nowhere and we struggled to get a trailer out to them for an emergency retrieval. To remedy this in the future we’ve reached out to our members to compile an emergency contact list of fellow sport pilots that have trailers and wouldn’t mind helping out a fellow flyer in an emergency situation without calling out search and rescue. We also think the list will be valuable for flyers flying into unfamiliar areas to contact someone close and ask questions. Right now we’re working on the Southwest US but there’s no reason we can’t do this for the whole United States. With that, I’d like to solicit your support, and if you’re interested, please send me the following information to be added to our emergency list:
(1) Name
(2) Location (City/State)
(3) Home Airport
(4) Phone: (cell phone preferred)
(5) Email address
(6) Do you have a trailer and would you mind being added to the US Emergency Retrieval List
We plan to publish our first list by the end of February
If you want, you can send me a personal email with this information to ctabbert2@atlantic.net
Thanks for your support
