Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: Rotax "5 year replace all

This depends entirely on whether or not we are dealing with an
experimental aircraft or an SLSA. For an SLSA, in year 5 no repairman or
A&P will be allowed to sign off if the rubber replacement is not
completed. If they do then they, along with the owner/PIC will assume
the liability should something occur. Why should an insurance company
assume liability if whatever happens was caused by the failure of a part
that was mandated for replacement?

I am getting ready to go and replace an engine that was ruined because a
coolant line ruptured in flight. Cost of replacing heads with
labor(including inspecting ALL engine components for damage or
wear)....approximately $14,000.00 Cost of a new engine....approximately
$20,000.00
