Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: Cessna Update

I can understand why you view them as "inflated" prices.

But I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing Cessna drop prices on the Skycatcher or any other LSA or even kit maker doing so.

I seriously doubt there's any inflation in the sense of the manufacturers being able to sell new LSAs at unusually high profit margins due to demand outstripping the supply.

LSAs are not selling like hotcakes.
These a slick modern planes having to meet tough (read "expensive")standards with current labor prices. Seems very unlikely they're going to "sell them at a loss" --- they'll just make fewer of them if demand goes even lower.

The cancelled orders for 80 Skycatchers doesn't mean there are 80 unsold Skycatchers on a dealer's lot somewhere where they have to sell 'em by years end. They were ORDERS... not built aircraft.
