Mike view the document Near miss diagram.jpg in the Files section (don't have the link).  
Where the blue dotted line of the Airbus, and the approximate red line of the trikers cross is about where the near miss occured.  Don't know the trikers exact path.

They had to of stayed in Wisc until just NORTH of Hastings.  "Big loop outside of mode C." As you can see most of that stage of the flight was IN the Mode C veil, and part of it in class B.  Back then class B didn't extend beyond 20nm, now it's out better than 30nm in that area, as shown.
