RE: Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group How to Tell if Aircraft is really LSA



Even though you have a Private, class II med, isn't it only truly a private status only with a current medical. Seems to me you would have to qualify for the whole thing to be called one. It doesn't take away you private status ticket, I understand that, but would it disqualify you from acting as a private pilot flying sport?
 
Does sport pilot say if you can't legally fly as private that you can still fly as one under sport without the qualifying medical? Leave it to me to come up with this one.
 
I guess you are a private pilot without a medical exercising the privileges of Sport.
