Then your trike, as a grandfathered ELSA, is endlessly modifiable
subject only to approval of any major mods by the FAA amending your
airworthiness certificate. For these mods, that should be doable (I'm
not saying easy).

You might first look into the checkride from the rear seat of a dual
control trike option. Cheaper and faster, I'd bet.
