from, maybe topping off is better? Also then if you have a puddle (or drops)
in the bottom of the tank and add fuel, you are stirring the water into the
gas so the water drops will be dispersed within the fuel instead of settled
on the bottom ready to be drained from the gascolator.
Thoughts?

Truth be told........
Rotax engines have been tested to the 15% level. The engines have been
certified by Rotax to the 10% level with no adverse effects. The only
issues I have seen in the engines running ethanol gas are related to
having it sit for 2-3 weeks between running. If you are not going to at
least run the engine every couple of weeks you should make sure to top
off or drain your tank AND empty the carburetor bowls. The problem is
not the ethanol but the water that it can absorb. If the water content
becomes to high for the volume of ethanol then the water will drop out
of solution. The water that drops out of solution is very low pH and
VERY corrosive to the aluminum parts.
You should also, per Rotax requirements, NOT be using ANY paper filters
of any kind. A screen type or mesh/stone filter is best.
This article was about making sure that we are not forced to accept 15%
ethanol gasoline at the pumps.
