Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Flight reviews by SP-FI

Hi All,
I was wondering about the sport pilot flight instructors giving flight reviews. For example, can a SP-Fi give a flight review to a PP in a sport category aircraft? As a private pilot, I took my last flight review from a CFI in a sportstar. Would this have worked if he had been just a sport pilot flight instructor. Thanks in advance. John Weber
