I've seen a few Cessnas converted over to Experimental/R&D in order to flight test some ideas and products that our company was producing, but never as Exp/AB.
Maybe Exhibition??? But you would have to explain WHAT you were exhibiting, and get permission in advance to fly the darn thing.

Here's the different Experimental categories, which one would fit the Aercoupe?
