If you're talking two people, lots of additional baggage, and long range, I'd look at the CTSW/CTLS and the Remos G600/GX. The CT has the advantage of a ballistic chute as standard equipment, which could save your bacon in a bad mountain experience.
The T211 Thorpedo also has a 600+lb useful load if you want a low wing.
