Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: good mic muf

Helen  I use a Nerf ball cut in half  then slip the mike into a slit  and sew it in place
it creates  a wind break large enough to dampen windy  the noise

Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group good mic muf

So now that we have the Searey up and flying - with the windows open in
this daily 100 degree heat we've had all summer here in MD, I was
wondering, is there a better mic muf out there in the world? I know a
lot of you folks run around in flying machines sans doors, sometime sans
cockpits. What do you do to deal with the wind on the mic? Is there
something I can pick up at OSH next week?

BTW, I'll be working the Searey booth in the LSA mall. Stop by. I'd
love to meet folks.

Helen

Actually, this was in the VFR corridor so I don't think he needs to contact ATC but he is private pilot and can when he needs to.

Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: Craig and Barry - Craig's quest to land in all 48 states

Why. Its completely and utterly legal. Barry flies that route all the time. Once the park ranger called NYC Police helicopter on him last year and it was a big hoo-haa and EAA and AOPA were calling for his license without knowing jack. He was completely legal, within the bounds of all FARs and in April FARs for trikes were changed so that a trike can basically fly low like helicopters and he was within his rights to exercise that right for safety as a few Mooneys were passing him at the height airplanes are supposed to fly at so being lower was safer for him in the corridor.

I think he starts his flights in Connecticut where Barry is based.

Only if you didn't get a one time instructor endorsement. Rec pilot is still around, and still not very popular. But, think of Sport Pilot as "rec pilot version 2.0". In many ways, it is similar... where you have a core set of privileges. Additional privileges are granted with instructor endorsements. Rec pilot also has a similar "Airspace" endorsement, just like Sport Pilot.

Thanks Ken
For some reason I thought 50 miles was the travel limit.

There is no distance limitation in Sport – other than limitations on International recognition.

The signoffs available are for flying in controlled airspace. There is no increase in weight except for floatplane.

The Bahamas are an exception.

Can anyone tell me about further sign-offs to the sport license. Increase in plane wieght? Increases in distance and so on? Do these exist or is this just wishful thinking?
