Only if you didn't get a one time instructor endorsement. Rec pilot is still around, and still not very popular. But, think of Sport Pilot as "rec pilot version 2.0". In many ways, it is similar... where you have a core set of privileges. Additional privileges are granted with instructor endorsements. Rec pilot also has a similar "Airspace" endorsement, just like Sport Pilot.
