RE: Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: Low Cost LSA

Our school here in Bakersfield, CA. just announced the arrival of a C-162
for show and tell on Oct 25th from 1130 to 1350. No, they didn't buy it,
just showing for another school to see the interests here in BAKO area. What
I have been watching is how many of their customer/trainees are interested
in it. Things may change as time goes by, but they really didn't want
anything to do with Sport at first. Taking my plane over for show several
times showed very little interest from the crowds there for real airplane
info. Seems price is not a factor, but chopped off privileges and not being
able to rent one is a major problem. This would be new starts and old timers
last chance. Guess it is different back in the eastern states.

Here is our schools Facebook page so you can see a typical western state
position and interest. Check events/click on the event. There is some
interest in just going to an event that is offered and most signed up are
regular attendees for most events. I might go, I don't know yet, anyone else
what to show up? ...could show an alternative to the glass 162 with regular
engine.. What do you think, should I go also, I'm definitely not buying
one..:

Your school does a great service. But training isn't the only thing
needed. Low cost aircraft are needed also. Maybe the current economy
will bring some civility to the raging prices that are seen on most of
the new ELSA and EAB kits currently being offered.

Maybe not ...
