Re: Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Logging taxi time?

Thanks for the replies. I received similar answers elsewhere, forgot the
bit about "moving under your own power for the purpose of flight".

I will enter the time in the remarks section, with '0' in the actual
flight time columns. So this cannot count as "time in type" for
insurance, etc.

Bill,
No it's not only you. But I'm trying to be cautions. The Kitfox was not
used for 2 and 1/2 years, so I am not the only one needing to shake some
rust. Need to develop confidence on the airplane too.
I want to see that the engine runs OK for long periods (1), instruments
are OK, things don't get loose with vibration, etc.

My self imposed minimum reqs:
No flying with less than 5 hours of taxiing, more if I feel I need more.
No passengers with less than 20 hours of flying, more if I feel I need more.

Roberto.

(1) Didn't forget about the reduced fuel flow requirements while at low
RPM on the ground. Full power engine run-ups with the tail down will
also be done.
