 You shield the wiring (if needed) from the power supply unit to the light Usually it will be already shielded from the factory as it is supplied in a kit Power supply wiring and light

When you say "shield the wiring" do you mean rewire the entire plane?

The answer is yes for most Rotax powered aircraft that lack an external
alternator.
