Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group RE: So much for Cessna

Because you don't have to buy new. I bought a 1974 7ECA for about 100K less than a new Aurora. Mine was rebuilt in 2004, and I'd bet it still cost less than a 1974 7ECA. When I can buy a used 152 for <20K, why would I buy a 160K 162?

There is a *very* small market for 100K+ LSA airplanes. And that market is people with a lot of money and that can't get a medical. The FAA has relaxed some on the medicals removing that as a barrier for many people. But even if you do not have a medical you can buy an experimental LSA for 15-30K all day long. My first LSA I bought for under 10K and it was great.
