Helen,
I thought the plane was called "Blue Mooner" after the song "Blue Moon of Kentucky" cause it came from near there. Turns out it is named for the act of "Mooning" that the Smurf is doing. The custom in that area of SE Indiana was, when a buddy flew over your airstrip, you would go outside and moon him. A charming local custom........
I like it.
