Re: Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Can anyone read German

Bruce,

I visited Atkins Rotary in Puyallup, WA a while back, with the idea of
purchasing the RX50 rotary for my ATF trike.

Mr Atkins pointed out several problems with the engine that would make it a very
poor choice.

Such items as the side plates are not nicaseal(sp) steel, but just aluminum.
The bearings are not 'oiled' except by splash.
The apex seals are soft steel rather than ceramic
The toroid shell is aluminum and not even ceramic coated.
The rotor seals are 'plain jane' 'O' rings rather than something that will
stand up to the abuse.
...
the list goes on.

BTW:
He was not trying to influence me to purchase one of his engines.
