Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: Fly For Fun

Alex,

I think that is EXACTLY what Malcom's point is...

Of course your right, there is no more ultralight instructor "recognized" by the FAA.

There is no provision for a PIC of an LSA from carrying a passenger, and sharing his experience, and wisdom. Why, thats what we do here all the time... not for money mind you...

Its also true there are no more "Ultralight 2 seat trainers", but there are many LSA's that USED to BE 2 seat trainers, ie: Challengers, MX Sports, Many PP, and WS... that will still allow people who may not want to persue thier LSA training to gain proficiency to pilot thier own Part 103 vehicle.

There is no regulation PROHIBITTING instruction of any kind, ESPECICIALLY in a club environment. We join these boards, EAA, APOA etc, to promote open sharing of information, and improving our own piloting skills and those of our peers.

I am pretty sure I saw one of the Challenger dealers offering LS training for $95.00 with plane wet. Please dont quote me...

Malcom,
I will be in Fl 3/29. I hope to make my mother and brother spend the day with me at Sun N Fun. Hope to see you there.

Johnny

And the only option for them to get legal dual experience before flying alone is to pay a normal CFI $50 per hour plus rental on an aircraft (usually a 172 or similar) at $150 an hour and find themselves training in an aircraft very very different than the single seat true UL they want to fly?
