Fish,
*I* would replace the overlong bolts and anything else that is showing excessive
wear, corrosion, and/or improper installation.
No radio license needed in the U.S.
There is no such designation as AB-ELSA.
Do you mean Experimental Amateur Built (E/AB) that happens to meet the LSA
limits?
The A&P will want to see the airframe, engine, prop logs.
If the engine is not one of the big three (lycoming, continental, franklin) then
just finding a A&P to perform the inspection could be a problem.
Generally, ALL the access panels will need to be opened and the cylinders accessible (usually means removing the upper cowl) so the differential pressure
test on each cylinder can be performed. The upper cowl needs to removed, even
if the cylinders are already accessible, so the firewall forward area can be
inspected.
Items like the transponder, encoding altimeter and ELT paperwork needs to be up-
to-date, or expect a delay and extra charges to inspect/update those items.
If you do not open everything, as described above, then the A&P will charge
extra to open them.
All applicable ADs must be already implemented or the A&P will charge extra to
implement them.
Expect the A&P to perform a OIL/Filter change and perform an inspection of the
old filter. You can save your self some cash by already having performed the
oil/filter change and have the old filter at hand.
Similar expenses can be saved by recently changing the sparkplugs (and any other
life limited items, like the fuel filter), log the maintenance, and have the old
items at hand.
Of course, everything in the cockpit/instrument panel must be fully operational
(or plan on some extra expense as the A&P corrects any faults).
I think that your best move is to first contact the A&P that will perform the
annual inspection. The A&P is the one that will be in the best position to tell
you what they will want.
