Re: Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Hand controls

My work mate has been this way since childhood so he is incredibly adept. We both work in the durable medical goods industry, so we have access to lots of cool adaptive goodies. I've gotten him to sign up to work the Arlington Flyin this year and we'll try to see what is available on the field. He never realized flight could have been an option so now he's pumped.

I work with the disabled daily and am amazed every day with what they can do. The weedhopper I saw had one down tube from the engine to the axle that could be removed to allow access.  Starflight or TX for that matter just needs a retractable tail skid to make the plane sit on all three wheels to load.  That part is simple and may add about 3# overall weight to the plane. An MX or Starflight sitting level should be at the right height for a transfer from a wheel chair.  About transporting a wheel chair it really depends on whether you are flying the pattern or going somewhere.  Roger P
