Howdy to all the flying lists I know. Feel free to pass along to any others as y'all wish.
Now that most of the dust has settled, I am interested in providing an accurate list of instructors that are willing to teach Part 103 flying. By far it would be best if the instructors themselves reply, but I am OK with getting the information second hand if you know of an instructor that didn't get this message (and wants to be on the list). There is no org affiliation or such requirements, but I can only list those who I know of. If you find yourself on this list and wish to be removed, please feel free to let me know. My idea is to be a one stop who's who for 103. Having a CFI is not a requirement to be on this list, so please don't fib and say you do if you don't have it. There are rumors that some Sport Pilot CFI's do not want to (or cannot) teach Part 103, and this list should help keep them from being bothered.
Please reply to bill at part103 dot org bill@part103.org to be added. Also if there is an important category I didn't think to add, suggestions are quite welcome. Next Wednesday, if anyone has responded, I will publish the list to www.part103.org for all to see. There will be no fee, nor favoritism, to all entries. I will sort the list as simply as I can, probably by location (state/zip/city/name). I will start off not having price, since this would potentially cause more trouble than I am looking for. That and price does not always imply value.
The information I'd like to have is:
Instructor Name
Address
City, ST Zip
Phone #
CFI (yes/no)
Has plane(vehicle) type: (fixed wing, ppc, trike, BYOP, etc)
Make/Model(s)
website URL
email address
Marketing fluff stuff / biography / about me / whatever you want to see as an elaboration to the above information. Think 1800dentist.com =)
Thanks in advance,
Bill Watson
