RE: Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: SOL - Memorial day

>I don't get it. What is wrong with calling a Cessna a light aircraft?
The original post referred to a "light aircraft". This morphed into "Light Sport Aircraft".
The two terms have different meanings. Light aircraft is a generic term which the
general public uses to differentiate aircraft from airline-class aircraft. I would also
venture to guess a very high percentage of Cessna (Very) Light (Jet) Aircraft

I agree...  we don't have a monopoly on the word "light".

>If we continue down that path, we should also be questioning the term "belly".
