Re: Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Sport Cruiser became entangled in trolley wire over San Diego on Wednesday

Fellow fliers,

Just to let you know, Here at 39P/Strom field in Morton, WA, we had an incident
this last year of :
--a new homebuilt airplane was passing near the city of Morton.
--the canopy blew off (not just open)
--the pilot lost a lot of blood from several cuts.
(both the pilot and the cockpit were showing lots of blood)
--the pilot landed safely. (hurrah for the pilot)
--his chase crew took him to the local hospital to be checked over and stitched
up.
(they were at the airport faster than he was)
--his chase crew found the remains of the canopy in somebody's yard in Morton.
--after some time to 'get his bearings', the pilot flew the plane back to the
home field (sans canopy).

Commentary.
I'm really glad the pilot had the sense/endurance/experience to pilot the plane
to a safe landing, especially after such a traumatic event.
