Yep…one good reason to stick with forward hinges.
Friend of mine lost his canopy on his Yak 3……tore a big hole in his wing on the way down…he was on downwind.

Wow.... what are the odds?....
Three times they come unlatched, and always while on final.
Amazing!
Certainly seems like a dangerous distraction to me.
