RE: Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group the Blame Game

Destroyed on purpose Dwayne?  Of course.  And if they could get rid of the PPC, gyros, and trikes along with it, anything not fixed Cessna like, they would have done that as well. Us GA people don't want that stuff/UL on our airstrips. Or at least that is what they TELL me. Seems like I have heard this in the thread lately as well.

There is no winning this one and I think there in lies the dissatisfactions both sides have been presenting.  GA side, UL side, FAA side. Best out of three? FAA wins, pilots loose.

In my estimation it is the FAA itself that has reduced the number of new pilots and caused the dis-interested to go another way while touting SP as the end all be all of pilot startups. It just isn't  happening.

Maybe it is just the economy, but I don't think so.

I think Rick Pitcher is right on this one. Pretty much nails it.

 I agree with Jim Blair....

I own a QuickSilver 2 seater.  503.  duel carb.  Flies like a champ, runs like a champ.

i was told I can take a seat out of it and it will be legal.

I have a problem with EAA, FAA and such, when they take away all training vehicles when it comes to ultralights.

We have totally destroyed Ultralights and the safety of them.  I personally believe it was purposely done, and I personally believe that we now have raised the risk of Ultralight adventurers.

Manufacturers want to sell machines.  IA's and A/P's want money.

Jim, I totally agree with you.

Great to hear from ya!

Shoot, you're both right.  I *blame* the FAA for removing old rules/regs without replacing them with new rules/regs that allows UL pilots to be trained/transitioned safely in a like-performing UL aircraft.  If safety is such a big thing with the FAA, why have they created this unsafe situation?

I remember it a LITTLE differently Jim:
I remember a lot of "phony" instructors,"FAT ultralights", and incompetent
operators that thought they could get away with "stretching" the rules 'till
they broke the system.
You can't blame the new system for ruining the old system, blame the selfish
bastards that abused the system so badly that it had to be abandoned.

Rick
