Rick,
Firstly, loved the expression "13th clown"... never heard it before.
Next, thanks for the compliment previously,
but remember it's probably based on a rumor that -I- started. ;-)

Now regarding "fair price".....
That is not really what's in contention.
I believe it used to be in contention about 5 years back
when we hadn't acclimatized to LSA-Airplanes costing $100k+,
but -now- an LSA-Airplane at $110k hardly raises an eyebrow.
It's generally accepted that the price of $110k to $120k
for the Cessna Skycatcher is comfortably within the ballpark.

If the Skycatcher was being built in Kansas or elsewhere in USA, we'd all be
perfectly happy with it, and there'd be no discussion other than, "it's an
American airplane, built in America by American workers, good job, way to go!"

But once we realize it's built in China by labor at $1.84/hour or whatever,
we can't help suspecting that this is -not- good for America,
and is instead just adding to our economic woes. And quite likely,
it's providing way more profit to Cessna Owners and Execs than what is fair.

We test this theory by looking at what is available here,
built in USA or other "western-civilized" countries eg; Germany.
I think there -are- LSA-Airplanes being built in USA and Germany
and sold here for under $120k.
And Abid has been selling LSA-Trikes at under $60k, mostly USA built,
and fitted with the expensive R-912.

That being the case, "buying American" is very do-able when it comes to LSA aircraft.
(hence dissatisfaction that people who specifically want a "Cessna", have to "buy Chinese")

Cheers,
Mike
