___________________________________________
I was able to take my first flight today! I must admit that this was even
better than I had imagined. After some ground instruction, and preflight
check of the Cessna 162 SkyCatcher, we were taxiing to the runway. A quick
jog off the taxiway into the run-up area, then we were heading down the
runway - AND WE WERE OFF!!!
To my surprise, and joy, I got to take the controls and following my
instructor's direction, made some simple (and admittedly timid) maneuvers.
keep in mind, that I had NEVER done this before today, and just learned what
all the controls were in pre flight.
I am looking forward to next week's lesson with much anticipation. I hope
my dreams tonight are filled with todays incredible experience.
And, I can finally say, (and have the logged entry to prove it!) I have
officially started my journey to becoming a pilot.
Thanks to everyone on their encouragement and support. I'll let you know
when my first solo is.
