Subject: Re: Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: SportCruiser flight this weekendThe Rotax service centers generally aren't used for routine mx but for overhauls and parts supply. Your typical A&P doesn't do overhauls of any model of engine nor is she a distributor for parts for any model of engine, including a Jabiru. I say again, how many service centers does Jabiru have set up in the USA and where are they located? Rotax has 4: FL, MS, CA, and WI.

Hehehe...
Funny, this is the same question that we hear about Rotax all the time!
But that IS a good question.
If I got this right, Rotax requires Rotax certified mechanics to work on the Rotax engines... right???
But Jabiru allows any certfied A&P to do the work on Jabiru engines...?
If that's the case, the air-cooled, horizontally-opposed, direct-drive, single-carb engine is familiar to all the mechanics at your LOCAL FBO! I don't think you'd have much trouble finding someone local to do your maintenance or repairs.
