And what about liability for say a manufacturer in Eastern Europe. Do you think your lawyer in the US will go after them free of charge to you??
How about even say Germany. No US lawyer will go after some manufacturer in Germany free of charge as they would against a US manufacturer of aircraft.
Now throw in the mix the "FACT" that almost 99% of aircraft accidents happen due to PIC error and what you have is a very frivolous civil justice system.
In the UK for example, you are welcome to sue a manufacturer but you better have pretty good chances of winning (in other words a solid case), otherwise if you loose, you automatically become liable to pay all the defense costs of the manufacturer.
This has nothing to do with in-equality of wealth particularly. That's a social issue and one we have ignored for far too long in the USA which has created many problems but this isn't one of them.
The way to get wealth is not to sue and get rich. That entitlement attitude is wrong and in the end hurts the whole society overall because manufacturing leaves, jobs leave, everyone makes less. A consumer only based society is unsustainable. Its a bubble that has to burst. Its a short term outlook.
