I'd think that pwrsport/Ed is thinking there was no need for hitting
utility lines.
Having just climbed to 1200', a glide back onto a runway or taxi-way,
or grassy area should have been fairly easy.
I think that's what Ed was thinking.... and I think he's right.
That was a very unhappy outcome from 1200' in the vicinity of an airport.
