Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: 162



Hi Helen,
 
Of no great significance except to confirm your "of course there are outliers" statement below:
I'm on the high end of the bi-modal age distribution (almost 70) and soaking-wet in winter clothes weigh maybe 140 pounds.
  
You should see my Skyranger 80HP 912UL leap off the ground with just me and half a tank 11 gallons (about 4 hours fuel): About 3-4 seconds to liftoff without any special short-field-runup technique. <g> .
 
 
If your 230+ pounders need some extra little push of motivation to slim down you might point out they'll get lower fuel consumption. --- I can stay aloft solo for an hour on 2.5 gallons.     ;-)
