All he'd have to do is use his Jenny fuselage - and add the grill and trailing edge scallops to it. (He could also make his Jenny - into a Clipped Wing Jenny. That would be two great LSA's! And I believe - as quick built kits - they could be much less expensive - than most of those overseas composites. (And real 'show stoppers') !

That "Patriot" isn't an SLSA so it couldn't be used for training. Zank is one of those rabid anti-sport guys, so there's no chance that he would certify the plane for SLSA status.

If you want a fabric covered LSA, look at the CGS Hawk.

Chuck Sluzarchyk of Chuck's Glider Supply (CGS) designed the Hawk ~25 years ago and there are hundreds (thousands?) flying today with many happy owners so you won't be buying a pig-in-a-poke like you would with the one-off patriot.

Chuck recently sold the businesss and retired due to health reasons, and the new owners are in the process of moving the operation to it's new home in Alabama. The move has put a kink in their production schedule, but I'm sure they'll be one track again soon.
AND... you can "Buy American" like you want!!!
