RE: Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group otherLSAtrainers

Not sure life expectancy is required testing for part 23 either.  Not all airplanes have a finite lifespan, but don’t know why.

Composites have their place in aviation.  So do metal airplanes.  So do tube and fabric.  Good lord, its not a contest.

Not only biased of course, but VERY OLD information. Ironically they quoted Boeing, who is about to roll out the 787 Dreamliner composite! You can see their change of heart here: http://www.compositesworld.com/articles/boeing-sets-pace-for-composite-usage-in-large-civil-aircraft.aspx
I have been looking for life expectancy of the current LSA composites, but I think maybe FAA don't require such testing in LSA planes maybe?
