Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Light Sport Shopping Experiences

I have spent a lot of time shopping for a plane I can fly using my sport pilot qualifications (72 year old pilot, could not pass a medical, also an A&P, wants to go far and fast).
I seem to sort them out some, with the Sport Cruiser seeming to be a great choice, anybody have any experience with one of them?
The other somewhat hard to explain thing is that the market has many low to mid time four place certificated planes available at half the price of a sport cruiser. Apparently the new market for LSA aircraft has not yet allowed production to catch up with demand. Do you think it will be better as time goes on?
