Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: Light Sport Shopping Experiences

Don:
There are very few Light Sport Aircraft that will take you "far and fast and full". Most have limited gas tanks, are well under the 120 knot limitation, and have a light useful load.

The # 1 selling model, Flight Design, has been around since 1997, so yes, there are some used ones available. New ones are also available with immediate delivery. See my web site www.lsanorth.com/products.htm for details.

The CT has 34 gallon tanks, 1000 mile range. A fast cruise 115 @ 75% power, 120 at full. A 110 pound baggage compartment. Most have a useful load of around 600 pounds depending upon installed options.
It is also 49 inches wide in the cockpit. I have flown with 6' 7" men with no problems, and I am 6' myself.

Scott Johnson
LSA North

Apparently the new market for LSA aircraft has not yet allowed production to catch up with demand. Do you think it will be better as time goes on?
