Re: Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: Skyscraper News

The aviation industry is slow to embrace ANYTHING, especially in the certified world. For the most part, that is a good thing. It can be frustrating to pioneers of the industry or for new markets such as LSA, but it ensures stability. The consumer electronics industry can change directions in months. It takes the automotive industry years to achieve an equivilent change. The aviation industry would take decades. Each of these industries has failures proportional to the speed in which they react to changes. Anyone still using HD-DVD? It is only a few year old and already in the boneyard of consumer electronics. We really do not want the LSA industry to head down the same path as VLJ industry.

Slow is good. Sport pilot and LSA will be generally accepted within a decade.

Well... that's not really open to argument Helen.
We know, and have known for 4 years that the H Instructors in the majority
have been very slow to embrace Sport Pilot.
Your showing a few exceptions to the rule doesn't change anything.
Gary was absolutely correct.
