No problem. I was asking on behalf of the group and if replies are on top, it is not necessary to go all the way to the bottom to glean new information. I was looking for protocol, not opinion. I deliberately did not trim to make the point that it's not necessary if all replies are on top. Not using digest mode except for another list many years ago, I remember it was a huge PITA and terribly unruly for an active list. I will gladly follow list protocol and I see your point. I have to admit, I've gotten lazy and will try think about those in digest mode prior to future replies. Have a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

This is a reasonable request...but, in return:

If you're going to ask digesters to accommodate you, why not work to
accommodate them by trimming away all but what you're replying to, as I've
done here? It's a two-way street.
