The aircraft must be 51% amateur built in order to be registered as E-AB. It
doesn't mean that *you* have to do all 51%.

Getting the repairman certificate for your airplane is a matter of
convincing the inspector that you know enough about its construction to be
able to do the annual on it. This doesn't mean you need to have built the
51% yourself, but it might get harder if you didn't. Ask the EAA about this
one.
