But they were trying it on for fit.  No way were they going to have gas and fly the thing.
 
But then our planes are almost 5" wider than the 152 as well. For that matter almost an inch wider than the 172.    Times are changing.

Was your airplane under gross weight with those folks in it Gary. That's a lot of pilot and passenger weight, not even counting fuel yet.
