because it has us continuously adjusting our approach rather than trying
to make larger corrections at different times in the conventional pattern
(But, I never taught to get so locked into a pattern that one didn't
adjust so ....)
It reminds on of the method the British developed to land the Cutlass on
carriers in the War and solved the problem the U.S. had with them when
first deployed.
I think it's a fine technique in it's place but the bigger concern should
be not the technique but the problem it addresses, that some pilots don't
continuously adjust the approach appropriately as they get new information
into their eyes and brains. Could be wind, could be strange airport,
whatever, don't "fall in love" with an approach but always adjust it.
