From past experience, you need to settle on something that will rent very steadily. You’ll pay out the nose for insurance for a rental Light Sport. I had a 152 in a flight school and with ony $28,000 hull value, it was still $4000 per year to insure it. Takes a lot of hours to pay just the fixed costs. It can be done and I hope to not discourage you, but if you settle on an airplane because of price, it might not be what your potential market wants to rent. For example, the 152 was renting quite regularly….but still only about 25 hours per month. The replacement…didn’t have the curb appeal and almost immediately my rental hours plunged to 10. My break even at the time was 20 hours, so that didn’t last long.
I would expect, and Helen can chime in, that the insurance will be more likely to be around $5 or $6K per year. Don’t be afraid to price the airplane where you need to be to make some money, but then be ready for the lurkers here to pounce on you for gouging the sport pilot…lol. The sport aircraft around here rent for over $100 per hour and they seem to fly a fair amount.

Research is being done with the thought of instruct/rent.
Looking at lower cost new vs used S-LSA that originally cost 100k+ new.
