RE: Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group LSA for rent without renters, or renters without LSAs available? (WAS: "Re: Cessna Update")



that, the very real possibility that the FAA will allow the driver’s license medical for private pilots under some circumstances (very similar to sport pilot limitations), then it might make sense to go that route.

 

The low cost pilot and planes then goes out the window as well if that happens. There would be no reason for Sport anything because the plane would be limited airworthiness and look like a heavy ultralight to most people at that point. LSA has a great potential but seems to appeal to a smaller number of people than was envisioned. Cessna didn’t help any with the unwanted C-162 out there, but won’t lose any money over it all.. The CPC’s will easily sell them off later on. That is my take on it at this point. Hopefully YMMV…
