I just traded my 1955 PA22-150 for a 1946 Taylorcraft BC12-D. Most of my flying is within the state, with only one passenger, daylight, and being slower will make the fun last longer. Less than half the fuel burn per hour, no electrical system, and just simpler also means less costly to maintain when or if I ever get to retire. I have a current medical and maintain a DOT CDL medical so not having to duplicate there will help while still knowing what my health is. Now the only hurdle is getting my 5 hour check out done. Last week end the winds were pretty high but the weather, a tailwheel instructor, and my schedule will come together and I can really find out if I made the right choice. More to follow.
