Looking thru the NSTB reports (100+) there is a higher level of fuel incidents than spins John Denver died of a fuel related crash He couldnt reach the changeover valve The pilot escalated include a high number of Oops my engine has stopped I will try to get back to the hanger even with 4000' 50 feet below I guess a stall in the turn is the ultimate cause
A dead stick landing and a walk isnt fatal

Those did not make it to FAA's Safety briefing's top 10 reasons statistically it seems.
