Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: Rotax valve tappet inspection for trapped air

That's not an "inspection". That's a procedure you have to perform before running the engine for the first time or if you disconnect oil circuit lines without using pinching pliers on them.
You are supposed to do this purging every time you install the engine as new or re-install or get air in the circuit. It gets rid of any air in there.
